Objective: At the end of the training course, the trainees will be able to facilitate sales, provide general product information and gemstone handling in retail or manufacturing operations. (This course is especially beneficial to front-line retail personnal)

  • Hallmarking and assaying
  • Jewellery setting styles
  • Gold findings
  • Jewellery of different periods
  • Understand natural, synthetic and treated gemstones, diamonds and their durability
  • Calculating gold price and estimating weight of mounted gemstones
  • Care and cleaning methods of gemstones and jewellery
  • Take-in procedures and precautions for repairs and cleaning of customers' jewellery
